Pate de verre Technique

Having its roots in Roman-period glassblowing,Pate de verre is an ancient method of glass that has since been revived among modern glass casting techniques.
Literally translated,Pate de verre means glass paste in French.
As suggested by the name, this method makes use of finely crushed glass. The powdered glass is applied to a mold, and as the temperature is raised the glass is cast into its shape. In my works, the texture of an original earthen sculpture is transferred to the glass after firing in the kiln. In the texture of the glass, one can perceive the vestiges of my feelings poured into each stage of the work's creation.
